020-0818 - The Colorful Multi-Break Shells of Malta

Picture it: You watch the shell ascending, follow the burning time fuse, and then see this multi-break beauty start to break on its way up! Then see the first break: Its a red-white-blue burst, one of the most difficult, yet here it is: a circle of brilliant red with a circle inside of soft white stars, and a core ball of the bluest blue stars, all breaking at the same time. And this followed by another break of the same, and then two more breaks of the same. And no, the red and white are not overwhelming the blue! How do they do that? And then the salute shells begin  shell after shell, breaking into patterns of chest thumping BANGS & BOOMS.

Nigel Villages new film shows all this first hand and close up. Nigel actually worked in a Malta fireworks factory for 6 months, learning the extreme nitpicking techniques needed to make these shells. Shells that break like round shells; unique stars lovingly placed one at a time. Shells as high as the man who made them! See them!
