Time Fuse

Time fuse is a thicker type of fuse that normally burns at the rate of 3 seconds per inch.
Shell makers cut into this fuse and insert a short piece of cross match to ignite the powder core. This provides a timed delay which can be controlled by its length, and ignites the burst charge, or similar, at a determined apogee in a shells flight.
